About San Augustine, TX - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

San Augustine is an East Texas city that also serves as the county seat of San Augustine County. As of 2010, the population of this small city was approximately 2,100 residents. This community was created on land owned by resident Thomas S. McFarland in 1832, and it was named for the Presidio de San Agustin de Ahumada. A variety of important Texas political figure have called San Augustine home throughout the years, including former Texas Governors J. Pinckney Henderson and Oran M. Roberts.

San Augustine is home to a variety of interesting attractions. Many of them center on nature and spending time in the great outdoors. Lake Sam Rayburn and the Toledo Bend Reservoir provide boating and fishing opportunities. Hiking and other outdoor recreation can be enjoyed at the Angelina National Forest, the Sabine National Forest, the Big Thicket National Preserve, and the Upland Island and Turkey Hill Wilderness Area.

Weather conditions in San Augustine are quite varied throughout the year. Summer months are generally hot with high humidity. While average high temperatures in July and August will reach the 90s, there are many days in which the thermostat level will surpass 100degrees. Not only will a high-quality air conditioner be essential in keeping indoor home climates cool, but they can also improve the quality of life of allergy sufferers by reducing dust and allergen levels in interior circulating air.

Winter weather in San Augustine is generally quite comfortable, and East Texas is a popular destination for snow birds that are looking to beat frigid weather conditions that occur in other parts of the country. While snow is uncommon, some ice or sleet storms may make their way into the area, and when temperatures fall below the freezing point, dangerous driving conditions may result. To stay safe and to keep indoor pipes and plumbing from freezing, an energy efficient heat pump or furnace is a necessity.
